Nooka 2008 Holiday ZON & ZIRC Watches

December 10th, 2008  |  Published in Accessories

From hypebeast: “Contemporary watchmakers Nooka present us with a couple of new timepieces from their 2008 Holiday lineup. Both watches combine the familiar unorthodox style we’ve come to expect from the New York based brand. Its CHIC ZIRC piece adds another look to their high-end collection with innovative design showcasing a metallic gold band and unorthodox display. Their NOO WORLDTIME ZON model displays Nooka’s newest and most luxurious timepiece to date. Entering a new realm, the ZON features a dual pixelated countdown and traditional numeric display, display contrast customization, and world time feature allowing the wearer to scroll through all 24 time zones with the click of a button. The ZON is offered in black or white with leather straps and a butterfly clasp, or mirror with stainless steel mesh straps.”

I’d like to thank Nooka, and Joe from Raw Information Group, for giving me the opportunity to take a look at this great new watch – the ZON.  To be honest, at first I wasn’t a big fan.  I have, however, grown to like and respect the watch for what it is – a very contemporary design.  This isn’t your grand Pappy’s Cartier my friends!  There are definitely times when I might wear this watch to  add a dash of modernity to my outfit – maybe while out clubbing or any other time that I’m wearing street-style clothes.  If you are a suit-wearing-gloverall-duffle-coat-rocking kind of guy then this watch probably isn’t for you.  Though you can hide part of that massive watch face underneath your cuff (I tried) it still looks out of place.

At the end of the day though, you just have to have fun with fashion!  Find a sense of style that’s decidedly you.  If the NOOKA ZON watch calls to you then pick it up, strap it on, and tell all the haters what time it is!
