What Would Walt Wear?

January 21st, 2009  |  by Brennan  |  published in Fashion

Refinery29 is loving “the half-innocent, deviously Lolita-esque Minnie Mouse looks spotted on The Cobra Snake and Stockholm Street Style” and I couldn’t agree more!  Yet to hop on the band wagon?  It’s not too late my little mouseketeers!  Pick up Topshop’s Headless Minnie Tee ($32).  Too cute!. Supreme

January 21st, 2009  |  by Brennan  |  published in Fashion

This is old news but I really like this styling of Supreme‘s Autumn/Winter 2008 Collection.  Directed and styled by Tet of WTAPS.  Supreme is just that, supreme! Share

Feather Pins

January 21st, 2009  |  by Brennan  |  published in Accessories

Handmade by a German company that’s been produced them in a small factory since 1924, these feather pins are crafted in the traditional style of a Bavarian gamsbart (typically worn on a hunter’s hat).  Great accessory!  $40 at the Cooper-Hewitt museum shop.  Via Valet. Share

Friendly Fires ‘Skeleton Boy’ by Clemens Habicht

January 21st, 2009  |  by Brennan  |  published in Music

Mr. Bobby Solomon of Kitsune Noir discovered this fantastic music video for Friendly Fires‘ “Skeleton Boy”.   To create the video Clemens Habicht incorporated the use of millions of packing pellets, similar to those found in your average beanbag chair.  Rad video. Rad song! Share

Creep by Hiroshi Awai

January 19th, 2009  |  by Brennan  |  published in Fashion

Today, while at capsule, I had the pleasure of meeting Hiroshi Awai, the creative director of Creep.  He was fantastically nice and generous with information.   In addition to the lookbook scans, here is a link to Creep’s lookbook and linesheets.  Buyers: Reach out to Lindsay Smith at atlas.showroom@gmail.com for more information regarding sales and wholesale [...]

R29's Guide to Dressing in 2009

January 16th, 2009  |  by Brennan  |  published in Fashion

My favorite tips from Refinery29′s latest and greatest guide to dressing fine in 0-9 are “head back to school” and “get onboard with the newest denim”.  Check out the guide here. Via R29: “We’ve already proclaimed our love of varsity jackets and saddle shoes, both of which are staples of a sort of half-nerdy, half-stylized [...]

SiLLY THING

January 16th, 2009  |  by Brennan  |  published in Fashion

This latest collection from SiLLY THING, aptly named “The New Gentlemen’s Code”, maintains the brand’s streetwear heritage while progressing into the realm of higher-end design.  Or maybe they’re just slapping bow ties on everything!  Whatever the thought process behind the styling, I’m really diggin’ it! Reuters on Retail

January 16th, 2009  |  by Brennan  |  published in Business, Fashion

This past Wednesday I read an article (seen here) on Reuters.com regarding the current state of the retail sector.  “Retailers said the downturn may have a lasting effect on how consumers spend money.  Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Economy.com, speaking at the NRF convention, said that, in 1980, consumer spending accounted for 63 percent [...]
