hermes-retrograde-pocket-watch-01 Hermes Arceau Moonphase Retrograde Watch

Last week Selectism highlighted the Hermes Arceau Moonphase Retograde pocketwatch.  This wonderful watch is 18kt gold and limited to 24 pieces. I’ve been thinking about what to do with my collection of pocket watches (seen below) once I finally get them repaired, and the leather strap seems like a great alternative to the chain.  I remember when I was twelve and my great-grandfather’s pocket watch (built in Waltham, MA, the same town I would spend four years in while at college) inspired me to sketch a man in a three piece suit, with pocket watch of course, in what I have come to believe was a channeling of Mr. Richard Haines (What I Saw Today).  These time pieces are truly beautiful and functional accessories.  Take a look at my collection here (sadly no Hermes or Patek Philiipe pieces just yet):

Timothy Ang of Dean & Trent also posted the following photos of some beautiful pocket watches by Patek Philippe a few weeks ago.  Well played gentlemen!
