Baxter Finley Barber & Shop

J.P. Mastey has been doing an incredible job with Baxter, a fantastic men’s grooming brand that was founded in 1965 by Baxter Finley. Now, after 45 years, Mastey and Co. are opening up their very first barber shop. Baxter Finley barbers, including lead barber Jason Simao (formerly of Freeman’s Sporting Club), will don custom made gingham check pull‐over shirts made exclusively for the shop by Steven Alan. With a basic cuts and shaves only menu, the shop will focus on great service and skilled barber techniques but will also feature the Baxter product line and goods from retaW (Japan), Dr. Bronners, D.R. Harris, Marvis tooth paste, and more. “We see guys trending to tradition”, says Mastey. “Whether we are talking fashion, or choice of barber, guys are looking for simple and traditional surroundings.” I could not agree more. The shop just opened May 1st with a grand opening slated for June 2010. Visit Baxter at 515 N. LaCienega Blvd. Los Angeles, CA.

When will they go national? It is so hard to find a shave these days!

What a great looking shop, love the chairs! My husband and I are great believers in the “simple and traditional is better” philosophy. We have been running our two-chair barber shop in Vancouver, BC, Canada for more than four years now, also offering only men’s haircuts and straight razor shaves and we couldn’t be happier! Wishing you great success with your new shop……….gorgeous!
Sincerely,

This is absolutely lovely.
There should be more of these quaint institutions scattered about the world to bring style and finesse to a simple shave and haircut.
