The Aesthete

September 29th, 2010  |  Published in the aesthete  |  11 Comments

I apologize for not posting earlier today but I had band practice until late last night and passed out as soon as I got home.  Nevertheless, having been inspired by Jon’s kit, I decided to throw together a quick number for you (and yes I know, I know.  I need a new camera!).  To all of my fellow Aesthete – I need a belt!  Any recommendations?

For this, I would go with a 1″ belt and a small silver slide buckle.

Re: the picture. You might get better results here by bouncing the flash. I have a cheap home-made method that I created by wrapping tin foil around a piece of cardboard which I then hold at an angle in front of the flash mechanism. It works, but I’m definitely not a pro.

I just bought that belt from J.Crew last week. Super slim but legit nonetheless. Great look by the way man, jealous you copped that sportcoat.

I just found an alligator ralph lauren slide buckle. It’s perfect, and even though it is quite old it has aged really well and still works. Some of the best $13 i’ve ever spent.

    all biased opinions aside… http://www.tannergoods.com/products/standard-belt-saddle-tan-copper

you should see the patina once you handle that hardware… ends up looking like a 50 year old tea kettle. So epic with the Saddle tan.

i agree with R.A. go with a 1″ strap with a slide buckle. sid mashburn has both…the brass slide paired with bridle strap is nice. you can order through taigan or as i prefer, call him up. his customer service is tops. http://www.taigan.com/shops/sidmashburn/items
