The Pursuit Aesthetic | Michael Bastian for Gant

This blog is less a means to an end – a career in fashion, publishing, PR, etc. – than an end in and of itself. Because of this, I’ve been able to stay true to my interests and passions, which really drive this blog. When the opportunity presented itself to partner with Gant for it’s Michael Bastian collection I was, admittedly, a bit shell-shocked. I’ve been a huge admirer of Michael Bastian’s and Christopher Bastin’s work for the Michael Bastian and Rugger collections respectively, and despite my initial reservations (“Do I really sound like that on video?”, “Am I really waxing lyrical on the linearity of fashion? Do I have any clue what I’m talking about?!”) I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work with this venerable brand.
Over the next week or so I’ll be giving you a closer look at some of the pieces you’ve come to admire from the Michael Bastian for Gant Collection. In addition, there is an awesome Facebook app (which I should have embedded here soon!) that you should check out – http://www.gant.com/dailylook/. With this app, you’ll be able to view some of the pieces in my personal wardrobe and view looks that I’ll be styling over the next week or two (like this), much like what we’ve been doing with The Aesthete series! Don’t like the shoes I picked? Well, you can even suggest another item from my closet. Better yet, upload your own wardrobe and style your own look! So check out the app and, as always, Join The Pursuit!
I’d also like to shout out David Fischer of Selectism (Congrats on the Details 2010 Fashion Blog Award, David!) and Samuel Garlöv of Industribolaget who will also be featured in the series in the coming weeks. Stay tuned, folks. There’s a lot more to come!
